Tanya & Jason -- married 20 years; writer (she); researcher (he); foodies and home renovators who love to engage the kids in dinner-time conversations (debates?!?) about religion, philosophy, ethics, and more. Favorite quotes:
"Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without" (she)and
"The journey is better than the inn."(he)
Miranda -- singer/dancer, love chicken fingers and eating out with friends. Should own stock in this.
Olivia -- gymnast, actress, love food (especially avocados) but
"when I don't like something I won't eat it!" (hmmmm... nothing comes to mind)
Hannah -- soccer player, artist,
"I'm not afraid to say I don't like something (tofu - yuck!!)"
Second, why we're blogging...
I often post our dinner menus to Facebook. FB Friends will ask for recipes, instructions, etc, so we figured why not start a food diary? If nothing else it'll be fun to go back and read what we made and what we thought of it. It'll also help us remember what we eat! See, you could call us Dietarily ADHD. We just don't like eating the same thing over and over. In fact, we usually try 2-3 new recipes every week. Some are keepers. Others, not so much!
We won't just be blogging about what we eat, but why we make the choices we do. It's part spiritual (Jason's Buddhist), part economic (Tanya was raised in one of the most frugal families imaginable) and part philosophical (love the earth and all that). Sometimes these three collide. We'll be blogging about that too.
Thanks for joining us on our adventure in mindful living... exploring some of life's Necessary Pleasures.
